Note: Please arrive at the main gate at least 30 minutes prior to your boarding time to pick up your boarding pass.

TALL SHIPS® PASSPORTS (Boarding Pass)

How much is admission?

Admission into the festival grounds is free, but festival Passports are required in order to board the ships.

How much is a Passport?

$12 in advance                $15 during the festival
Tax is included. A convenience fee applies to online ticket sales

Children 5 and under are FREE

What is a Tall Ships® Passport?

Tickets for the Tall Ships Festival are simply called “Passports”. A Tall Ships® Passport is a souvenir booklet that serves as your event ticket. The Passport gives you boarding access to each ship one time. The booklet contains information on each ship that will be in Brockville for the festival and will be stamped as you board each one for deck tours. It is also a great souvenir of the 2016 Tall Ships® Festival!

Passports can be used to board the ships on Saturday September 17th and Sunday September 18th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Deck tours will not be available on Friday September 16th

What is included with a purchased Passport?

Passports can be used the entire weekend and grants the user access onto each ship ONE TIME ONLY and includes a shuttle to the Naval Ship on Monday September 19th.

Access onto the ships will be from 10am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday. There is no charge for admission onto the grounds.

Benefits include access to ALL ships, land based activities and all entertainment during the festival.  Offerings include nautical demonstrations, vendors, entertainment, re-enactments, historic encampments and evening fireworks (Saturday at approximately 8:30pm)

How long is a Passport good for?

Passports can be used on Saturday September 17th and Sunday September 18th from 10:00 – 5:00 pm and is valid for one deck tour onto each ship.
Note: There will be no deck tours on Friday 

The Passport is also valid for one shuttle ride to the HMCS Ville de Quebec Halifax Class Frigate on Monday Sept. 19th.

Passports are valid to access each of the following;

Besides access to all land based activities, access to all entertainment, nautical demonstrations, vendors, entertainment, re-enactments, historic encampments and evening fireworks, Passports provide access to:

  • 8 Ships;
  • Coast Guard Hero-Class Patrol Vessel

Bonus:

  • Passports can ALSO be used for one shuttle ride to the Naval Frigate for Monday Sept. 19th

Do I have to buy a Passport to take the shuttle to the Naval Frigate on Monday?

No. Tickets will also be sold to take the shuttle to the Naval Frigate.  Tickets can be purchased at 1000 Islands & Seaway Cruises 30 Blockhouse Island Parkway.

What is the price of a ticket for the Naval Shuttle?

Do I have to buy a Passport to take a deck tour of the Naval Frigate on Monday?

No. Tickets will also be sold to take a deck tour of the Naval Frigate at 1000 Islands & Seaway Cruises 30 Blockhouse Island Rd

Does my Passport include shuttle to the Naval Frigate on Monday September 19th?

Yes
Access to the shuttle and Naval Frigate will be permitted ONE time per Passport.

Can we leave and come back to the Tall Ships® event at any time?

Yes
The festival grounds are open to the public so you do not need to show proof of purchase on entry or exit.

I just want to take pictures but I don’t want to board the ships, do I need a festival Passport?

No you do not. There is no charge for admission onto the grounds. The passport is only required for boarding the ships for deck tours.

What if I lose my ticket or Passport?

Unfortunately we cannot replace lost Passports. If you lose your ticket to a Dinner Cruise or Sail out, please go to Main Gate at Blockhouse Island – Tickets

Can I exchange my sail out or dinner cruise ticket for a different time?

No. Sail out and/or dinner cruise tickets are non-refundable with no exchanges

Do you have special rates for kids/groups/ seniors or support workers?

There are no special rates. Children 5 and under are *free but no further discounts are available. Passports have been well priced to make this event accessible to everyone; the best way to save is to purchase your festival passports in advance at $12 rather than at the gate for $15.

(*excluding dinner cruises and sail outs).

What if it rains?

The ships will be here rain or shine. This festival will take place rain or shine. Our ship crews aren’t afraid of a little water we aren’t either! Deck tours will be available even if it is pouring.

All sail outs and dinner cruises will still take place if it is raining unless the weather is so severe that it is unsafe to go out.

How and When can I get on the ships?

Ship Deck Tours are from 10:00 AM- 5:00 PM Saturday and Sunday for Passport holders.

Please note:  Given the popularity of this event, be prepared for line ups.

Where can I go to see when the ships will be arriving?

Ships will be arriving on Friday for the Parade of Sail which will begin at approximately 3:00 pm.

The best locations to view the ships during the Parade of Sail will be from the eastern end of the Blockhouse Island Peninsula and from Centeen Park. The ships will gather together downriver by the three Sisters Islands just east of the event site and will sail past Blockhouse Island.

Ship Deck Tours will commence on Saturday and Sunday for Passport holders.

CHILDREN

What about life jackets for my child/children?

Children 5 and under will need to provide their own lifejackets for the sail-out and dinner charters

What is the age requirement for a dinner cruise? Can my child go for free on a dinner cruise or sail out?

Children that are under 5 are free for deck tours but not for sail outs/dinner cruises. The cost of those cruises is priced based on the total ship capacity and therefore free spots on board are not available. Children require a regularly priced ticket for dinner cruises and sail outs.

Does my child need a Passport?

Children under 5 are free but they will not be issued a Passport. They are permitted on deck tours accompanied by a Passport holding adult.

If you wish for them to have the Passport as a souvenir, you may purchase one for them but you must pay full price.

Will bike racks be available?

Yes.
Location: North east corner of the Water Street parking lot.

Note:  Bicycles, skateboards, or rollerblades are not allowed on Blockhouse Island for the duration of the festival.

What do I need to know if I am coming by boat? Is there mooring available?

The City Municipal Harbour is closed to transient docking during September 16, 17th or 18th. Seasonal boaters have access to their own slips.

Are there travel tips for getting to Brockville?

Brockville is easily accessed by the 401 Highway which runs through town dividing the City into the historic downtown core and the “north end” of Brockville. Brockville’s beautiful waterfront is just minutes from the 401: follow the brown and white tourist information question mark signs from the 401 all the way through town to the festival entrance.

BUS SHUTTLE

Is there a shuttle or bus service that will be taking people downtown to the event?

Yes there are complimentary Tall Ships Festival bus shuttles direct, a Downtown Express bus route and regular city buses available. Please see the Location tab for details.

What are the options, times and locations for the complimentary bus shuttles, City transit and taxi services?

What is the Navy Shuttle?

This is the shuttle boat, operated by 1000 Islands & Seaway Cruises that will be taking passengers to the HMCS Villes de Quebec on Monday September 19th with a Passport or shuttle ticket. If you have a Passport, it is free. If you don’t have a Passport you can still purchase a ticket to take the Navy Shuttle to the naval frigate.

Where can I board the naval frigate shuttle?

The navy shuttle will be leaving and returning from Blockhouse Island to the frigate moored to the south of Hardy Park. Look for a specially marked cruise boat operated by 1000 Islands & Seaway Cruises.

What is the schedule and pricing for shuttles to the naval frigate?

Passport holders have one complimentary use of the Navy Shuttle over to the HMCS Villes de Quebec. The schedule is being determined and will be posted as soon as possible. Stay tuned!

WASHROOMS, PETS and ACCESSIBILITY

Is the festival accessible to persons with disabilities?

Are the ships accessible?

There is no wheel chair access to get on to the ships unless chairs are lifted by crew aboard. There are no accessible washroom facilities onboard.

Where are the washrooms located?

Washroom structures are available at Centeen Park, Hardy Park, and Blockhouse Island.  In addition, portable washrooms, hand wash stations, and handicap accessible portables will be available at various locations on the festival grounds.

I have trouble walking long distances, is there anything to help me get from one end of the event to the other?

Golf carts will run from Hardy Park, Blockhouse Island and Centeen Park for visitors from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday and 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday

The Giant Tiger train will transport visitors from Blockhouse Island to Centeen Park Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 6:00 pm.

Can I bring my pet?

Yes. Dogs must be on a leash. Please keep in mind that the crowds can be very heavy at times and it may be best for them to be left at home.
