Tall Ships Brockville

Information about the Brockville Tall Ships Festival that happens every 3 years, and the Big River Festival which is on every summer

Activities

The Brockville Tall Ships® Festival – Presented by Procter & Gamble was the last port of call of the TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE® Great Lakes Tour 2019. Please see below for our 2019 activities as a reference for future events, but keep in mind that things change year to year and information is likely to change by the time we host this festival again. The TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE® Great Lakes Tour occurs every three years, and we hope that Brockville will be a Port of Call once again in 2022.

The participating ships will arrive in the afternoon on Friday August 30th, with the festival grounds opening at 2pm. Tours of tall ships will be available with a Festival Passport on Saturday August 31st and Sunday September 1st between 9am and 5pm. Our schedule of events for the festival can be found below.

Don’t miss these majestic ships when they recreate the magic again for visitors to witness them en masse during the Parade of Sail passing along Blockhouse Island prior to their dock arrival on Friday afternoon at 4:00 pm.

To enter the festival grounds, you will need to show either a General Admission wristband (for grounds admission) or Festival Passport (deck tours + grounds admission). For more information on tickets (and to purchase) please visit our ticket page.

The Empire Sandy will once again be offering specialty sail outs and dinner cruises – please visit our ‘Ticket’ page for more information. Since the Empire Sandy hosts the sail out and dinner cruises, that ship will not be available for deck tours at the event.

Other offerings include nautical demonstrations, vendors, entertainment, re-enactments, historic encampments, Captain’s Reception event and more.

Below is the 2019 festival entertainment schedule for your reference. Click here to download a printable schedule and map. Please check back as we update the schedule of events with activities and entertainment.
